Pierre Renoir was a French Impressionist painter who lived 1841-1919. Known for his vibrant colors and intimate figures, he was also a great lover of feminine beauty and sensuality. This is reflected strongly in his many nudes.
I am sure his nudes caused a bit of controversy in his own day, but I am also sure that the present candidate for governor of Virginia, Ken Cuccinelli, a card carrying member of the American Taliban, i.e., the Republican Religious Fanatical Nut Case Faction of Neo-Puritan Assholes, would be more than happy to burn these pieces of smut today….that is, once he is finished his crusade to restore all the anti-sodomy laws in the state of Virginia.
